Attributed a recovery from paralysis to the intercession of the Virgin Mary and entered the convent at Paray; her visions of Christ provided the origin of the Catholic practice of worshipping the Sacred Heart of Jesus; was beatified (1864), and canonized by Benedict XV (1920).
